Palm Beach Post – Downtown West Palm Beach awash in pink as Race for the Cure takes over

January 25, 2014

The Susan G. Komen South Florida Race for the Cure, now in its 23rd year, colors downtown West Palm Beach pink today as thousands gather to raise money for breast cancer research.

An estimated 15,000 survivors and their supporters participated in last year’s event. Participants walk and run along Flagler Drive to raise money for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs.

Race day began at Meyer Amphitheatre at 7:30 a.m. with the women’s 5K race, and continues throughout the morning with a men’s 5K run, a team 5K walk, an individual 5K walk, a kids run for children ages 6 to 12, and a tots run for little ones 5 years old and younger.
