GossipExtra–Susan G. Komen Scores a Perfect Pink in Mar-a-Lago Shindig

PALM BEACH — Palm Beach’s Royal Park Bridge bathed in pink lights Friday night marked the start of the Susan G. Komen big yearly fundraising weekend, and last night’s Perfect Pink gala at Mar-a-Lago marked the highlight.

In a grand ballroom of Donald Trump‘s private club decked out in 17th century Italian renaissance decor, 13-year-old America’s Got Talentprodigy Jackie Evancho moved some of the 350 guests to tears.

And that was just for desert.

This year’s Gala Chairs were Outback Steakhouse co-founder Tim Gannon and socialite Susan Bodnar Malloy.

Former U.S. Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, who founded the breast cancer research non-profit named after her sister Susan G. Komen, expected last night’s gala would raise about $1.5 million — in ONE NIGHT!
